The East of East Atlantic Canadian Hip Hop Archive is an ongoing research project that attempts to maintain a record of hip hop culture in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. To date, there are more than 1600 digitized albums, +1000 physical recordings (cassettes, CDs, vinyl), hundreds of flyers and posters, and information about close to 500 hip hop artists in the region.

Plans to develop the contents of the archive into a publicly-searchable database are underway. For now, elements of the archive can be viewed on Instagram @east_of_east_hip_hop.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of Atlantic Canadian hip hop history, or would like to access East of East for research purposes, please feel free to contact me at
